Privacy notice

Last updated:

Shinedog operates shinedog.co.uk and is responsible for the personal information described in this notice (the data controller). For privacy questions or requests, email privacy@shinedog.co.uk.

Running the website

Vercel hosts this website. When you visit, Vercel processes technical information such as your IP address, requested pages, request times, and browser or device information to deliver the site and protect it from abuse. Our lawful basis for this processing is our legitimate interest in providing a reliable, secure website.

Vercel retains service and security information for the periods needed to operate its services, meet legal obligations, and resolve disputes. See Vercel’s privacy notice for its retention criteria and practices.

Optional analytics

With your consent, we use Google Analytics 4 to understand how people find and use this site. This includes pages visited, visit times, interactions, referring websites, browser and device information, approximate location, and identifiers stored in analytics cookies. Google also receives your IP address when your browser contacts its services.

Our lawful basis for analytics is your consent. Google Analytics loads only after you accept analytics in the banner or save Allow analytics in Cookie settings. You can use the website without accepting. Our analytics configuration disables Google Signals and advertising personalisation.

We use a two-month retention period for user-level and event-level analytics data, without resetting user-data retention on new activity. Google deletes expired data through its monthly deletion process. Standard aggregated reports are not subject to this setting and may remain available for longer. Google explains how analytics retention works.

Cookies and your choices

We store your accept or reject choice in your browser so we can remember it. This preference is valid for 180 days; after that, we ask again on your next visit. It is used to manage your choice, rather than to measure visits. Clearing this site’s stored data or using another browser means choosing again.

If you accept analytics, Google uses the cookies _ga and _ga_TWT4CR0LK7 to distinguish browsers and sessions. We configure these cookies to last up to 180 days, without extending their expiry on each page view. Your browser may remove them sooner.

To withdraw consent, use the Cookie settings panel above, select Reject analytics, and save your choice. The Cookie settings link at the bottom of any page takes you there. This stops further collection and removes this site’s analytics cookies. Withdrawal does not undo processing that happened before you changed your choice. You can also delete cookies and local storage in your browser settings.

Service providers and international transfers

Vercel receives information needed for hosting. Google receives analytics information if you consent. These providers may process information outside the UK, including in the United States.

Their data-processing terms provide transfer safeguards where required, including standard contractual clauses with UK provisions. Details are available in Vercel’s data-processing terms and Google’s data-processing terms. You can contact us for more information about these safeguards. See also how Google uses information from sites using its services.

If you contact us

If you email us, we use your email address and message to respond. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in handling enquiries, or our legal obligation when handling a data-protection request. We keep correspondence for as long as needed to resolve the request, handle related follow-up, and meet applicable recordkeeping obligations.

Your rights

Depending on the circumstances, you can request access to, correction or deletion of your personal information, restriction of processing, and a portable copy of information processed automatically with your consent. You can withdraw analytics consent at any time using Cookie settings.

You also have the right to object to processing based on our legitimate interests, for reasons relating to your situation.

To exercise your rights, contact privacy@shinedog.co.uk. You can also raise a complaint with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), the UK data-protection regulator.
